Round 7-11 (Ottomas)

The Ottomas Family
Previously at the Ottomas Family: David married his teen sweetheart Chris, but they have been struggling a little financially - with Chris losing her job at the Monty restaurant and David being unable to find an opening in Music, their whole income relies on tips from David playing music at the park, and Chris opening up her business lot...

The two of them wake up...

... and Chris got the inner jingle to expand the family with a little one.

I guess Samantha's nagging at her and David planted a seed in her mind, might as well try to shut her up.

After they get out of bed again I got a popup of Chris' carpool coming in an hour and I remembered someone got Chris a new job after that Louisiana Gumbo disaster.

The two have some leftover food before Chris is off...

... and David is still not lucky on the job market.

The ominous prank call also isn't helping here.

After paying the rent to the landlord...

... David takes off to his main income source:

The park downtown.

He starts an impromptu concert to get some money...

... and finds himself attracting Kent - bad idea there!

Kent promptly gets sent back to jail to serve his sentence!

After Kendra Monty comes by and blasts a face-full of flu viruses David's way...

... The Capps and Montys arrive in the shape of Regan and Cunedagius.. sharing a taxicab with.. Romeo and Mercutio??

And also this random primary school girl???

It doesn't take long for riots to start!

After shoving Romeo, she slaps Mercutio again.

They officially declare each other enemies as Regan starts framing the area around Mercutio's chest with her hands - kind of concerning??? - while Cunedagius beholds the spectacle with despair.

David decides to end his performance and pockets a couple of hundreds.

After accepting a subscription to a Music Magazine...

... he calls for a taxi to take him home, just as another fight breaks loose...

Mercutio comes out victorious against Regan!

Regan goes for a rematch against the younger Monty brother, while David really needs to worry about entering the taxi before it takes off without him.

Romeo wins against Regan, too...

... but before any further fights occur, the taxi takes off.

Chris is the first to come home.

There she is met with a group of people calling her up on the phone.

David is met with the same fate as he arrives back home.

After losing his friendship with Steven Dallas, David is quick to approach him to catch up again.

He takes it upon him to cook him and his wife dinner while she takes a well-deserved nap.

After having dinner together...

Chris has a dip in the pool...

... while David works on his want to befriend 5 Service Sims by calling up Jane the pizza lady.

Before he goes off to bed, he checks the job openings one more time - still no luck.

The next morning, the couple starts their opening routine.

Chris got a case of morning sickness - she IS pregnant and about to show...

But the philosophical question on whether the baby bump or the carpool came first is answered this time with the carpool.

Chris is off to her job, vying for a promotion...

... While David calls for the taxicab once again...

... to go visit the park.

There he happens to walk in his father-in-law Antonio Monty and invites him over for a game of darts.

This fulfills a want to meet a new Sim??? Dang they didn't know each other yet?

Samantha follows to the park soon, David welcomes her with an embrace.

While David goes off to play a piano on the concert, the foul and misbehaved Adrian Capp is apparently playing truant and decides to come to the scene of the park to harass other innocent park goers.

Elise Hollmo, a local downtownie Adrian's age, beholds the spectacle and waves a cloud of hearts at him - a poor choice of taste, Elise.

Cyd Roseland however, comes to the rescue - using a new technique he presumably learned at his job in the crime career...

... Cyd manages to snatch the money from Adrian's pocket at a safe COVID19-proof 10 feet distance!

The young Adrian is confused by the improbability of the situation...

... so much, in fact, that a weird spirit seems to take possession of him.

Cyd also seems to be taking possession of things, namely Elise's money.

Let's hope and pray that Cyd doesn't come close to David's vulnerable tipping jar, where he's playing piano for dear life to make an extra income.

Elise seems to have snapped out of her trance of hearts, and has decided to poke the foul Adrian Capp with her finger. Good for you, Elise.

While David is gathering the precious Simoleons in his tipping jar, the shifty Cyd seems to be approaching the stage.

As a precautionary matter David is forced to end his performance, making §600 for the day.

He has decided to spend those hard-earned Simoleons on an espresso treat for his greying mother.

But alas, this showcase of generosity is rewarded with a strain of the flu passing around Veronaville.

David calls for the taxicab and brings his day at the park to an end.

In the meanwhile, Chris managed to stumble upon a few dedicated poker players at her work circle.

She manages to join them and they invite her to their poker club.

This results in Chris' early departure home from work, where she receives a prompt promotion!

But not only that, she also receives her very first baby bump - resulting in her receiving maternity leave!

After handling the bills...

... Chris rewards herself with a game of SSX3 on the computer!

She follows this with a good reach of a book about the mechanics of architectural design, which earns her a skill for Mechanical she needs to get promoted.

Then David arrives back at home.

It doesn't take long for the barrage of phone calls to come in, and a LOT of friendships seem to deteriorate, including people I thought were quite close just a while ago.

The frustration of the phone call spam seems to be setting in with David as well - he even holds the phone backwards to his ear.

David then somehow manages to get rid of the phone's horn entirely.

This eventually leads to the complicated situation where the phone cannot be answered at all...

... so a new model had to be purchased.

Eventually the phone was getting ignored entirely again...

... for one of David's friends brought a visit in person...

... while Chris decided to play the chess table - when suddenly Miranda Norman came over, too.

Chris caught up with her and in the process got infected with the flu, too!

David also made one more phone call with an old college buddy.

While Chris decided to hit the hay...

... David got one more phone call from someone who wanted to go Downtown - sorry sir, I went Downtown already today and I am, frankly, getting tired.

David followed up on his word by joining Chris in bed, where the two of them got declared healthy again from their mean flu.

Chris however, did crawl out of her bed early to deal with the second baby bump.

David also used this time to search for his dream job once more - and today Lady Luck was finally smiling upon him!

He celebrated with a jump in the pool, while Chris was practising her logic skill once again on the chess board.

She gained that coveted skill point she needs for a promotion!

Not much later, David got himself a skill point, too!

He went on to celebrate this physical feat with a jog through the village.

Chris took this time to rest for a little longer.

Then David came back from his jog, and after dealing with a crank call he went on for a bath before a nap of his own.

Realising Chris' pregnancy bump timing was quite off, I decided to have a look at the timing and try to divise a plan to fix it later. Then I noticed it.. She can actually walk to work in order to try and get a promotion she's eligible for?

Bye Chris, and bye David! Good luck at work you two!

Some hours pass, and Chris is back from the job with the coveted promotion, plus a stash of money!

Knowing that her pregnancy timer is off anyway, I also decided to send Chris to her business lot.

She has arrived at Chris' Wonderful Entertainment.

There she's setting up shop for the day day.

Sadly her outing to entrepreneurship has side consequences, as the vile Veronaville Flu has struck Chris once again...

After making a bit of spare cash, Chris calls it quits and rounds up her guests to leave.

After purchasing a few expansions for the lot...

... Chris is heading back home, where David has to deal with the stampede of friendship messages by his poor lonesome.

After rekindling his friendship with Steven Dallas once again...

... David calls up his brother Thomas to rebond together.

That is followed by David catching up with Keith Zuimelhof.

Then Chris has finally arrived back home. She's heading for the refridgerator, eager to make herself a comfy little snack, only to find that she and David have ran out of ingredients...

She instead helps herself to some leftovers while David is still manning the phone, and about to switch the duties on to Chris.

But alas, all she got was a phone call to invite her over downtown.

After Chris spent some of the family savings on a new television nook, David checked on the refridgerator's remaining contents.

The two then went to bed.

After a good night's rest, during which Chris healed from her flu...

... David goes on his morning job while Chris watches a movie on the telly.

Just as David returns, Chris' contractions begin.

But alas... the cutscene got ruined due to the door blocking our view on the miracle of life.

But later on in the cutscene we get a good view on Chris and her newborn baby.

It's a girl... and there is a second baby coming?!

Yup, Chris gave birth to twins! I was genuinely surprised when I saw the popup that it was twins - when I checked the pregnancy report with the SimBlender I was so focused on the pregnancy timer and then on the fact Chris could go to work, that I actually didn't notice the number of babies expected...

I guess it's the Ottomas twins all over again. At least Chris' face isn't set up very high though.

After a very long deliberation, I decided to name the children Laura and Dennis. Because, contrary to the rest of Veronaville, the Ottomases don't have a strong name theme besides 'generic common names'.

After the babies got cuddled by their parents...

... they were put in their newly bought cribs.

Before we take any further action...

... David is off to fetch some groceries for the doubled family.

After paying for his purchases, he runs in his sister Sharla. The two of them have a quick chat, but he sadly has to move on back home, soon.

Chris in the meanwhile has been playing chess with April Hutchins, and earned another skill point!

After sharing a meal with David, who just got back from his trip...

... Chris hits the books again while David heads off to work.

Chris learning session didn't last too long however - the newborns both just filled their diapers at the same time...

It's quite a chore keeping twins clean and fed when you're on your lonesome.

After all that Samantha called. Time to give her the great news.

Then comes the daily bunch of friend phone calls.

It's hard keeping up with so many people, especially if for some reason the relationship decay seems to go harder on this lot specifically.

After having some time to hit the books more, David comes back, with a promotion of his own!

Then it's time to whip out the birthday cakes. First it's Chris' turn to blow out Laura's candles...

... then David does the same for Dennis.

Then it's time for Laura...

... and then Dennis to grow into teddling toddlers!

And what comes first? Of course, the potty training...

Laura has a generally balanced personality, though she does lean towards the playful side.

She's neurotic and a heavy sleeper and loves the colour red.

Dennis is also balanced, though he tends to be really shy but also nice.

He's friendly, loves the outdoors and likes the colour black.

With David and Chris in bed it's time for these two toddlers to also go sleep...

... but for some reason...

... they keep crawling out again and again...

... which is getting a bit ridiculous.

Eventually Chris and David wake up again.

After bringing their offspring to their potty thrones...

... the Spring sun starts rising at the horizon, signalling us that it's time to say goodbye to the Ottomases and move on to the next family.

To be continued
