Previously at Julien Cooke's: Julien steadily makes steps on his off-the-grid culinary journey. He's been working on his relationship with April Hutchins on the side, but how long will it take before he'll be successful enough to fully rebuild his life?
We're starting things off with Julien taking care of his newspapers near the phone box.
After making a call to bond with Nathen Custer...
... a lightning strike hits the tree outside! What to do, what to do... Stay inside the safe phone booth?
Of course not -- always run and panic immediately underneath the tree!
After the rains eventually extinguish the tree, Julien notices someone walking by.
Then an entire party of Sims passes by! Including Kendra Monty, who is a friendship interest of Julien.
A bit of chit-chatting does do wonders to make that friendship into a reality.
After a good conversation with Patric Vu about bits and bops...
... before going off to work...
There Julien faces a job opportunity to publish his cooking into a book!
It pays off!!
To celebrate Julien spends almost all of his aspiration benefit points when he returns from work!
He then goes on a bug hunt... but the bugs manage to hunt for HIM instead!
After the most miraculous and action-packed of chases, Julien returns to his humble homestead safely and makes a delightful salad.
He calls it a day...
... and the next morning.. it's the groceries that ran out.
Time to take off to Pentameter Parkway!
It seems some of the Capps have gone out and gathered on the Monty side of the canal...
After witnessing some feuding last season, Julien is quick to get his groceries, get to the cashier...
... and get home ASAP.
He has the day off today.
Plenty of time to try and entertain some people by throwing a party to promote his book!
After making his party guests some drinks...
... Julien makes them some burgers, recipe straight out of the cookbook!
They seem to appreciate his cooking!
After the culinary experience, Julien manages to make a couple romantic moves on April...
... before the party reaches its natural conclusion.
After taking care of some financial...
... and some maintenancial matters...
... before retreating to his tent.
A new morning, a new breakkie with fresh ingredients...
... and an ominous call in the phone booth.
Disregarding that, Julien makes...
... a couple more phone calls...
... right before...
... heading off to work again!
After another shift ended, Julien picked up the phone again, this time to invite April on a night out Downtown!
What's better to start the night off, than with some relaxation at the spa?
Relaxing music plays in the entrance hall, which makes Julien treat April to a dance!
Their dance is so entrancing that they don't notice the silly Fox chewing up the couch.
While Julien talks a bit more about his cooking...
... Carmen Patch and Patric Vu start getting into a fight.
Victor Ryan has a ride in the orb and flexes his physical prowess from all the time training in the military.
Meanwhile April and Julien found a secluded spot in the hot tub.
There their date went into the physical realm.
While they were getting busy, a familiar face approaches the couple and then stares.
"I have seen things I will never unsee....."
Downstairs was another display of public physical activity, but instead it's of the less pleasant kind.
Carmen came out victorious!
I do wonder though... I have seen Lamare's fight death mod, but I'm still a bit on the fence on whether to actually implement it or to stick with my own system?
What to do, what to do...
Julien and April have an idea on what to do...
Dining out at Bernard's Botanical Dining it is!
A place with good ambience, which seems to have taken a note or two out of Julien's book...
... a good place to get seated at...
... and toast to a great night together!
The romantic gestures and nudges keep on coming...
... while the two daters make their way through the meal...
... but when the sun starts to rise again...
... Julien pops out a very special box...
"April Hutchins, you mean the world to me.. Do you want to marry me?"
April gasps...
... but eventually replies with an excited squeal.
"Yes, yes yes!"
April seems happy as she puts the ring on her finger...
... but I swear that Julien may have caught a glimpse of April's memory icon of the even being red???
The night out is ended with another toast...
... and a couple...
... of extra romantic gestures.
All good things must come to an end eventually, however...
... the two fiancées share a final moment together...
... before the taxi comes to take Julien back home.
Just in time to avoid the purse.
After a long night of fast forwarding...
Julien finally arrives home from his night out.
Just as he enters his tent to gain some energy, the first snow of this mild winter starts swirling down upon Julien's off the grid setup.
When he finally wakes up at noon he starts to feel a little chilly...
Having no roof over his head the most efficient way for Julien to keep warm, is to start exercising.
Combining the fitness routine with hot showers only does so much to keep Mr Cooke warm, so eventually he finds some solid planks to close off the top of the silo with, making the place indoors.
Feeling proud of his hard work, Julien enters his cold-proof silo now and lies down on the couch for a bit.
After a little rest, Julien goes out again to pick up the bouquet April left him..
... and then he makes a call with his bud Trent Traveller.
Julien trains off some calories in exchange for some body heat...
... but to no avail-- dangit he's got a cold now.
And there already was a flu going around in Veronaville.
Time to get some verymuch needed rest.
The cold sadly does do the things to keep him up during the night. But at least the good news is that the glow of the early spring sun is about to peek on the horizon, which hopefully is a sign of easier times in the next round of Julien's camping life....
