Monty Ranch Residents
Previously at Monty Ranch: With a bit of work, the elders rekindled the spark of love between them, as the boys made friends on their side of the river and Mercutio eventually went off to college. Staying in touch with their relatives, the family also expanded a bit with Felix the dog and old acquaintance Don Treadwell the butler.
There's a small project I am working on for the Monty side of Veronaville. I'm replacing the white textures of the houses on this side of the river with more natural materials. I've already done the community lots and the unoccupied houses...
... which means that Monty Ranch is also about to get updated into the new style...
Guess what that means...

BWAHA!
Really proud of how this turned out. I especially love the plant cover on the entrance part - copied that from the Monte Vista builds in Sims 3. And because I used waterlillies I won't have to worry about watering them :3
As for the bottom floor, I rearranged some of the rooms - most notably I moved the hallways at the front of the ranch to the center, which leaves more room to use in the kitchen and the 3rd and 4th bedrooms. I've also replaced the nursery with a door that leads to the cemetary directly plus a new staircase.
Where does the staircase lead to? The new master bedroom and the new nursery of course! Also includes room for the easel and the chess table.
With the makeover done, I noticed Romeo has a really interesting want: to gain a Logic skill point - time to send him to the new chess nook!
After he gained one point, he wanted more... But first it's breakfast time with his grandparents.
Speaking of grandparents...
I sent Patrizio to the cemetary...
... to pick up the remains of HIS grandparents.
I'm playing with a clean template version of Veronaville after all, and the creator removed all ancestral grandparents, except for Contessa Capp's because those are buried at Capp manor.
So I thought it'd be only fair if Patrizio got his grandparents buried in his family cemetary as well.
Felix is being a good boi, and is friendly with the mailwoman.
Romeo meanwhile continues the grind for logic.
And he keeps doing so, while his grandparents do *ahem* a different kind of grinding. Felix, don't look.
The grinding stopped though, as Romeo's carpool is about to arrive and Patrizio got idea on what he wants to do with his pension check.
Off to the Strapford Strip!
Once he got there, he first had to bully Kent Capp - how dare he show his face on THIS side of town?
Patrizio made a solid selection of fine clothes...
And once he tries them on and checks himself out...
"Hmm, is it me or did I get more wrinkly?"
Wrinkles or not, Patrizio walked into his son-in-law Cyd and had a nice family bonding moment with him.
Afterwards he returned home...
... Where Isabella made preparations for the New Year's Bash.
With everything planned, the eldies took a nap before the festivities would break loose.
Romeo meanwhile got a chance card, right when his first birthday notification popped up.
Score!
And with that Romeo has reached the top of his career through sheer luck!
Oberon, you're going to be right over at his place in less than an HOUR!
Romeo started to build the atmosphere...
... Right as the guests walked towards the ranch!
The party gets started and the atmosphere is setting in, right as the snows start coming!
Right when the family is toasting, Father Time pops up!
The family cheers him on with the ruckus!
And HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Toddler New Year is here!
Patrizio has a conversation with his youngest grandson for a bit...
And then the festivities are over! A success!
Time to send everyone to sleep!
Next thing in the morning - Romeo makes some breakfast for the family.
Eating himself though? Nah, when there's some good-looking girls to score with and Romeo feels like having a date.
Felix decided to behave a bit more naughty though - and had to be scolded accordingly.
Back to flirting!
Romeo's charms are enough to score a date with Kendra.
Meanwhile Isabella's charms are enough to score a date with Patrizio.
The two of them are getting to swapping saliva really soon.
Romeo.. has to approach things at a slower pace however, and keeps his lips at her hands.
Kendra is willing to have a slow dance with Romeo soon already, as Patrizio goes for the dumpy.
Romeo goes for the full smooch - and receives a speeding ticket instead!
At least Patrizio and Isabella are having a good time.
Romeo has to cut things short with Kendra because of his job - but at least she is satisfied by his charm.
Patrizio then got an urge from his inner gut feeling, that told him to invite Antonio, Bianca and their families over.
Just as everyone arrived, the elders realise that their date is still lasting and have to cut it short.
When everyone walked back to the ranch, someone was awaiting Patrizio there...
Grim was to be the travel companion towards Patrizio's next destination.
"Congratulations! You have won one (1) ticket to [The Simhama's of the Afterlife]! This is not a scam!"
R.I.P. Patrizio Monty
Isabella gained a large inheritance from her late husband.
Even though the stacks of money are nice, the pain of the loss does roam in her heart.
Romeo, who was absent from the events due to his job, was informed, and he too was saddened.
He, however, was also eligible for a financial inheritance.
Being of the right age and having the want for it, Romeo gathered his scholarships...
... and left for college.
With the other guests also leaving for the night, Isabella remains all alone in Monty Ranch...
All alone? Nah, Patrizio's ancestors Angelo Capitano, Silva Monty and Portia Monty also visited the place.
With only Felix living under the same roof, what is Isabella to do?
Reminisce about the love she used to be surrounded with?
Pour her soul into taking care of Felix?
NAH!
Embark on a quest to become a Fitness Granny Guru of course!!!
(well technically she does do the first things but it's not her main goal...)
And after training off some of those pounds, bathing in bubbles and her pension money!
Meanwhile, Felix meets up with Bianca who is walking by.
After her nap, Isabella catches up with Mercutio who called in, to share the news of Patrizio's passing with him. (He sadly didn't make it from college to witness the event in person)
After Don saying his goodbyes for the day...
... and catching up with her grandson Benedick...
... Isabella had some spaghetti à la Monty.
And immediately continues on her journey to become a Fitness Granny Guru! Kendra showed up in the background with a gift for Romeo, not really realising that Romeo moved out of the ranch.
After working out some more, Isabella takes a shower and calls it a day herself.
The next day a full pack of snow awaits Monty Ranch.
And although her sleep was paired with some muscle cramps, the result of her exercising program paid off, as Isabella officially became a Fitness Granny Guru!
Feeling confident in her new body, Isabella goes and pets a penguin!
Followed by her taking Felix on a jog around the neighbourhood.
She got back exhausted, but it's worth it for the fitness gain.
Time for a well-deserved lunch!
Followed by giving Felix's coat a thorough cleaning...
... followed by inviting her family over for some quality time together!
And there they are!
Isabella uses this opportunity to tighten her bonds with her oldest granddaughter Beatrice.
Meanwhile, Bianca finally finishes the painting she started working on in a previous round.
After a cozy family night, an exhausted Isabella calls it a day and goes to sleep.
The last remnants of the snow melt away the next morning, signaling that Spring is about to begin.
Next time we'll see how the Summedreams are doing - especially how Puck reacts to the tragic demise of his beloved Hermia.
To be continued
